Opera on Track...coming to a trolley station near you!
Join San Diego Opera’s young artists for a 30-minute version of Rossini’s Cinderella at trolley stops and venues within close walking distance of the trolleys. Part of a new community engagement program, Opera on Track presents these delightful short events to share beautiful music, promote the use of public transportation to come to the Civic Theatre downtown during opera season, and to preview San Diego Opera’s production of Cinderella on its main stage in October 2016.
All Opera on Track performances are free and open to the public. Families with children are especially invited to attend as Rossini’s music is tuneful, upbeat, charming, and funny as the traditional tale of Cinderella unfolds through the kind of storytelling that only opera can provide. And although the score is in Italian, these Opera on Track performances will be sung in English.
MTS is the 2016-17 season Preferred Mode of Transportation.
Opera on Track is funded by OPERA America’s Building Opera Audiences grant program, supported by the Ann and Gordon Getty Foundation.
