From the moment we are born we use our voices every day to communicate with the world around us. But have you ever wondered how you make sounds? How your breath, mouth, tongue, lips, and larynx come together create words? And did you know your voice can be the ultimate musical instrument? Join us at the Museum of Making Music as we learn about the physical and technical mechanics of the voice and how, through music, the voice is capable of a huge variety of depth and expression. Led by San Diego Opera’s General Director (and operatic baritone) David Bennett and singers from San Diego Opera, we’ll experience examples of the unique voice types in classical singing and explore the different sounds and effects that your voice can produce in some fun and educational audience participation exercises. Event includes delicious light bites and wine.
