Audio Description Service
Offered at all Civic Theatre performances for guests with visual disabilities. This free service begins 15 minutes before curtain and provides verbal readings of the program, synopsis, and description of the action onstage during the performance. Headsets are available at the coat check station no later than 15 minutes prior to curtain. Quantities are limited.
Assisted Listening
The Civic Theatre and Balboa Theatre are equipped with an assisted listening system for the hearing impaired. Headsets are available in the lobby, or you may bring your own. T-coil loop devices are available for guests with t-coil compatible hearing aids (note: audio systems are not Bluetooth-enabled.)
Visual Assistance
Binoculars are available in the San Diego Civic Theatre lobby at all performances. An ID must be left for free rental.
Large-print programs are available in the lobby at all San Diego Opera performances.
Opera Caravan
Join the car-free crowd! The Opera Caravan is an exclusive motor coach service from North County to San Diego Opera. The Opera Caravan service is available for Sunday performances from the Carlsbad Dove Library and The Remington in Rancho Bernardo.
